On Tuesday, November 24, Lovisa Johansson and Magnus Landerblom from the 84codes team held a requested online meetup on the topic RabbitMQ vs. Apache Kafka. The event attracted over 60 participants and was hosted by DataOps Polska.
Apache Kafka and RabbitMQ are the two of the most popular messaging platforms, so naturally, they get compared to each other. During the meetup, a presentation of the two brokers highlighted the differences, discussed features, and pointed out similarities followed by a comparison.
84codes have been hosting these two brokers for several years and feel confident that we’re able to guide those who are in need of understanding how and why to choose one broker over the other depending on the use-case. Several blog posts have also been written on the subject, both on CloudAMQP and CloudKarafka.
Thank you DataOps for having us. It was great fun to interact with users of message queuing software and answer their questions and we hope that we will be back with new guides and helpful information for the community soon.
If you’re hosting events and are in need of speakers on message queuing, microservices, RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, or other topics within this field, give us a shout and we’ll look into the possibilities.
