September was the perfect time for our much-awaited workaway in Åre, Sweden. Since the last 84codes workaway event, our team has expanded to include a couple more both competent and like-minded co-workers and this was the first time for many of us to meet in person. We welcomed Johan, Oskar, and Patrik and they already feel like they have been in the company forever.
Åre is well known for its magnificent natural scenery and also for offering a lot of activities and high-quality food, so the destination itself was a perfect match for all of us, from hardcore mountain climbers and downhill bikers or something less ambitious.
Besides work, the focus for this workaway was to team up with the new members of our group and to spend some quality time in a creative and welcoming environment.
Our stay at the well known and hospitable hotel Åregården was a success, and they offered us everything that we needed.
Many of us took the opportunity to hike or run in the mountains, and one group tried their luck in the slopes by bike assisted by the experienced team from Åreguiderna, which we can highly recommend. Åre offers plenty of outstanding restaurants that feature locally produced food and drinks, and none of us left Åre hungry.
Again, we’re reminded of how being part of a good team benefits each individual as well as the company. We’re already starting to look forward to our Christmas workaway in November in addition to some mini-workaways for different teams over the next few months.
A lot of ideas have started to grow from September’s workaway, so we all have a lot to look forward to as autumn continues.
