“Where should we hold our next workaway?” This is a recurring question for our HR department, which always does an exceptional job planning these events. Throughout the years, we’ve visited many amazing locations, each leaving us with unique and lasting memories.
Some of us will never forget the survival camp at Aspa in 2019, and the adventure of getting everyone to the restaurant in the middle of the slopes in Hemavan will stick around for a long time! Körunda, just outside of Stockholm, is another such place, where some of our first significant HR discussions happened. Now, six years after our first visit, we were excited to return!
Körunda, a charming golf resort and conference hotel, is nestled in nature just 20 minutes from Nynäshamn. Surrounded by fields, lawns, and forests, it offers a peaceful atmosphere, making it perfect for our team’s post-summer reunion. The last time we were here, our crew consisted of 13 happy spirits, and with this return, we brought at least double the amount while having a handful with us on link. Conveniently enough, our team has expanded with a couple of golf enthusiasts, ensuring the nice golf course was not left unused. We revisited the sauna raft and we also remembered why Körunda made such a good impression on us the last time: the food!
Our workaways are special, not the least for team collaboration projects. These gatherings allows for our different teams to be able to set long-term goals and plan projects face-to-face. As an all-remote company, we know about advantages but also the challenges of remote work and together we try to address them both.
This workaway, we gave a lot of thought to discussions regarding human relations, how we can improve our collaboration and detect how and when we can help each other. A joint workout session tend to be a keeper, and we were also trying to create opportunities for improvement of our wellness planning program, which are constantly in review. To highlight the focus area, ski athlete Karolina Hedenström was invited to shared her journey of goal-setting and its impact on her career.
At our workaways, the goal is to learn from each other, share experiences, and establish routines that everyone can join. The positive outcomes from these meetings are often seen in improved tools and finetuned company functions, and also a well defined plan supporting us in being more active and care for our physical and mental health.
We thank Körunda for yet another fantastic experience. This was the perfect way to end the summer, bringing new energy to all our fall projects. We now look forward to round two of 2024!
And to finish off, let’s do a little throwback to 2018.
