As 84codes continues its 2024 tech conference tour, it was time for some of our team members to travel overseas for the TechBash conference in Pocono Manor, Pennsylvania. This trip marked several firsts; some Swedes experienced America for the first time, and some US team members met their Swedish colleagues face-to-face for the first time.
The TechBash conference was held at the lovely Kalahari Resort and Convention Center, a two-hour drive from New York. Leaving the urban skyline behind, the 84codes team headed west towards an autumn landscape where the leaves had begun to display its vibrant colors.
Upon arriving in Pocono Manor, we discovered the truth behind the saying: “Everything is bigger in America.” The Kalahari Resort - just wow! Its parking lot alone seemed large enough to accommodate the entire population of my small hometown in northern Sweden. The conference halls were equally impressive!
In one of them, Lovisa Johansson shared insights from her years of working with RabbitMQ. Her talk, Unveiling the Power of Message Queues, covered a wide range of topics, from understanding message queues and their appropriate usage to real-world scenarios where RabbitMQ has proven invaluable. The topic was clearly popular, as the room was so packed that attendees had to sit on the floor after running out of chairs.
On our return journey, we made a brief stop in New York City to experience a taste of the bustling metropolitan life. We also seized the opportunity to meet with some of our customers whose offices are located in the World Trade Center.
